“Watch this space” made me think of this:
And speaking of space, my pal Steven made a documentary you should watch about the Challenger space shuttle accident. It premiered yesterday! From Steven:
When the Challenger accident happened in 1986, I was in elementary school. Looking back in time to understand this deeply traumatic moment, I was shocked to learn there were people who tried to prevent it.
Although this film is very much about systemic dysfunction and human fallibility, we also endeavored to capture the great ambition, hope, and optimism that birthed America's space shuttle program — and opened the door to a new generation of astronauts.
News to me, as well. I had no idea anyone saw it coming. Awful. You can watch the four-part series now on Netflix. I’m halfway in and wish I didn’t need sleep and could’ve finished it last night.
Back to the announcement I was going to make before getting lost above the clouds: This week, Wiretap re-released a podcast episode I’d completely forgotten I recorded with Gabe Delahaye where we answer callers’ moral quandaries. If you’re not familiar with Wiretap by the brilliant Jonathan Goldstein, that’s probably because it was a radio show on the CBC and very hard to find online until it recently became available “wherever you get your podcasts.” I can’t even begin to explain the show, it’s that incredible.
Our episode is funny (and then it gets kind of dark!) which got me thinking that maybe we could do some advice content right here? If you’re wondering what I get out of it, just listen to the podcast where I explain it very stupidly. What YOU get out of it is my opinion about your problems. It’s totally anonymous, no area is off limits and I promise not to be a total jerk. I was a little mean to one guy on Wiretap who has some feelings about his neighbor’s kale, but not like mean-mean, just a tiiiny joke about his relationship to kale, which would’ve been negligent not to make.
Here are a few old columns I’ve done like this in the past for various outlets. Now, since I’m the boss of this website, we can talk about whatever we want: family and relationships and makeup and fashion and work and money and probably death. Definitely death, come to think of it. How can I help? Feel free to reply to this email with your question or email me at seejanemarie@substack.com. I look forward to being part of the solution!

Definitely here for the death stuff.
